2013 25 Hours of Thunderhill

25hoursofThill

Factory48 would like to thank all the drivers, crew, friends and family that made our participation in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill possible this year. We did have a handful of issues with the car in the middle of the night that dropped us far down the order. To finish 2nd in class and 6th overall is a testament to the strength of the team.

Our goal of winning the overall did not become a reality this year but we’ll be back next year even stronger.

Special thanks to CrowdStrike and Dunlop for their much needed support.

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. (December 7, 2012) – Jeff Shafer dove the No. 48 Factory48 Motorsports ESR Class Radical to the overall pole position for the United States Air Force 25 Hours of Thunderhill that takes the green flag tomorrow, Sat., Dec. 8 at 11 a.m.

The green flag dropped on qualifying for the tenth running of the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill at 5:15 p.m. just as the sun was going down. Jeff Shafer recorded a time of 1:42.315 around the 2.8-mile 15-turn Thunderhill Raceway Park circuit good for the overall pole position for tomorrow’s race.

“We ran out of gas after we turned our quickest lap, so we were right on with the fuel,” Shafer said. “I was out there circulating trying to get a clean lap. I was able to get a clean one and put in a fast time. Last year we had a little oil fitting break and it cost us our race. We are going to focus on running our pace, our race and don’t let anything mess us up.”
